I haven’t done this in many, many years

The ground is currently covered with a healthy layer of white stuff. The weather folk haven’t done the best job of predicting the snow, though. This is the second storm in as many weeks that they have claimed would bring plentiful snowfall, only to get little snow. Well, if you can call 3-4 inches a “little snow.” Instead of the 7-11 inches predicted, we got a bit of rain and freezing rain. I think the temperatures turned out to be a little higher than expected.

Nevertheless, I took advantage of the wet, heavy layer of snow resulting from the 33-degree temperature today to make a new friend:

snowman

He waves at those who pass by the house. He would have been closer to the road, but that big snowball on the bottom did not want to budge from its current location. It’s cool, though, because he gets to rest against the house.

Anyone have a good name for him?

I shall call him by his Native American name Chief DoesNotDisplayInRssFeed. :)

Also, this reminded me that when we became friends, the first you invited me over to your house (must have been 4th grade, and when you still lived in downtown bellefonte), we spent the day playing in the snow. Luckily, at that point, I didn’t break any light bulbs, and would be invited back again. :)

I can’t think of a name, but if I wait long enough it shouldn’t matter. When does it warm up there again? Mid-August? For about three days? Sounds like snowman hell. Sure, he lives all winter and will probably get well into Spring, but he’s doomed to live that time in Ithaca. Appropriate city for a tragedy, I suppose. That smile is entirey too big, by the way. He’s way too happy. Like I said: doomed.

Yes, I’m drunk. But so is Ben.

I think in Danish I’d call him Frode, or Frede. Unexplainably that seems like a fitting name for a snowman.
I now know why we have no snow here at all - you’ve got it all there. Share, will you?!?

Although I like Ben’s suggestion, I think you should call him Kanye. Hope you didn’t expect a reason as well.

Are you sure he is waving at those who pass by? It doesn’t even look like he has arms. It looks to me like he’s flashing people. Perhaps, you should name him Commando.

As I started learning Italian I would call him pupazzo - because pupazzo di neve means snowman
